My Blogging Billet

Hoover Boo of Peace of Eden posed 3 questions in her blog post today:

  • Where do you blog?
  • What is your view?
  • Does anyone stare at you sullenly and wish you were not blogging?

As it's too hot to do much of anything outside this afternoon, I thought it a perfect time to respond to her questions.

Here's where I blog:

Here are the views from the windows in my home office:

And here's who's staring at me this afternoon:

Ming the Merciless

Actually, he's not so much staring as squalling his head off to be fed but I couldn't get a picture of him in mid-cry.  He started screaming for his dinner almost immediately after his mid-afternoon snacks.  (Yes, I meant the plural form of the word there - he's relentless.)  To be honest, he wants to be fed all the time - and it's not because I deny him much.  He's just a complainer by nature.

My other cat, Pipig, has left me alone this afternoon.  Her visits to my home office are usually morning affairs.  And she doesn't come calling for food but for affection.  She's a well-behaved cat (mostly).

    1. The views sold the house. The night lights views are great too but I've never been able to get a good picture.

  2. I should do this for serious contrast. It makes me think of that comment from my teacher, your former teacher, Ms. Wilson when I was in 7th grade. "OMG, he's your brother? I never would've imagined... as different as night and day." Please tell me the desk was staged a little. I mean com'on, nobody's desk has zero clutter.

    1. I admit that I removed an empty bottle of Snapple before taking the picture and moved my note pad to the side (still visible) but that was it. Maybe one of us was substituted at birth.

  3. You might want to have Ming's thyroid function checked. My old girl started yowling at 5 am this summer - when she had her check up her thyroid levels were off. Is he a hunter? (Whispered into you ear - maybe tapeworms? - that was my young hunter's problem) Or maybe he's just always been that way.

    1. He's a Siamese (Lynx-point) so that's part of it but he is ill. He's been through lots of tests (ruling out hyperthyroidism and parasites). We think it's IBD but a definitive diagnosis isn't possible without a biopsy and we can't put him under anesthesia due to his heart condition. We're treating him as if he has IBD with dietary changes and meds but the heart condition limits the meds we can use. It's very frustrating (for him and us).

    2. So sorry to hear (read!) that. It IS frustrating to not have a diagnosis. I hope the dietary changes help. He looks like he's quite a character. I'm sending good thoughts his way.

  4. How fun! Beautiful views, and your cats--uh--supervisors are as beautiful.

Have to say, I'm with ericnp--how can any desk be that clean?

    1. I'm afraid the desk is usually pretty neat. The office has lots of cabinets and cubbies so it's not hard to keep that way. Clutter distracts me. Right now, there's another empty Snapple bottle and a camera case nearby but that's it.
