Bouquet #6

Erin at the Impatient Gardener hosts a weekly Garden Appreciation Society event in which participants show bouquets comprised of picks from among the flowers currently blooming in their gardens.  Thus far, I've relied heavily on plants I have a lot of, particularly Agapanthus and Shasta daisies (Leucanthemum x superbum).  I still have a lot of both of those in my garden but, this week, I concocted a moodier bouquet.

Here's what's included:

  • Echinacea 'Magnus'
  • Rudbeckia 'Cherry Brandy'
  • Achillea millefolium
  • Origanum vulgare 'Kent Beauty'
  • Cuphea ignea 'Starfire Pink' (my standby filler)
  • Leucadendron salignum 'Chief' (filler)
  • Angelonia 'Angelmist Dark Pink' (filler)

The last 2 plants get lost in the arrangement, I think.  I probably should have just left them out.   I'd originally intended to focus on the Leucadendron and the Rudbeckia but itchy fingers took hold and soon I was clipping all sorts of things.

  2. Lovely bouquet this week! Are the Rudbeckias the ones that look almost black? Wow, those are really striking.
    Take care!
