Snow on Saturday

Actually I took this photo on Thursday but I couldn't resist the alliteration.  At sundown, as our latest rainstorm moved out of the area and the clouds moved out of the way to briefly reveal a clear view of the San Gabriel Mountains to the east, everything turned a delicious shade of pink.

I hope you find the last weekend of 2019 both serene and colorful.

  2. I hope 2020 is a good year for you, and for everyone in the blogosphere! I thought when I saw your headline that you had gotten snow, that really would have been freakish weather.

    1. I'm sure snow this close to the SoCal coast would make national news, Alison! In my entire life I've only seen flakes fall once and that was some 50 miles to the northeast when I was a child. The flakes melted before ever reaching the ground.

  3. Wow, that is a lovely view of the mountains. Makes me want to be there, but I don't see it happening this year, alas. I must say, that so far, I'm not as resistant to the winter weather as in previous years, but we still have the lion's share ahead of us, so who knows what lies ahead. ;)

    2. Thanks, so do I! The forecast for January looks unseasonably mild.

  4. Those mountains are fantastic. You have snow! ha... It is wonderfully warm and wet here. Winter might arrive in a couple of days. In the mean time it is 60F here. Crazy.

    1. Those mountains are nearly 80 miles away, Lisa, but at least we get to see them occasionally from a comfortable distance. Our temperature today is only 56F so you're warmer than we are!

  6. Aren't those snowy mountains gorgeous? The cherry on top of the sundae that is winter rain. :)

    1. The mountain view is often obscured by a combination of clouds and smog. Having it revealed at sunset was a real treat!

    1. It was! Snow, even at a distance (or maybe especially at a distance), is a treat.
