  1. Ah, just imagining soaking in that sun while basking in the glow of those flowers makes me happier.

    1. There are palm trees all over that valley location. They make for a pretty skyline but the falling fronds can be treacherous when our Santa Ana winds blow.

    1. The orange you see in the current photo is mostly provided by Osteospermum. The California poppies are coming along behind (as Eric explains below).

  6. Thank you sis! There are about 40 varieties of wildflowers in there, most aren't budding yet. The yellow and orange is all Osteospermum (African daisies). CA poppies are everywhere but probably won't show blooms for 2-3 weeks. Cosmos bipinnatus was devastated by the December freezes but is now coming back. There's lots of lupine in this shot as well as baby snapdragons (Linaria maroccana). Other highlights so far are the oxeye daisies, Virginia stock and Centaurea cyanus. A couple of years ago the idea for this was for something very different than today. Today this is an ecosystem, it's our contribution and our daily delight and all we had to do was throw a few million seeds down and finally get some rain.

    1. Thanks for sharing your photo Eric. I hope you'll provide an update as the first waves of bloom are replaced by the next.
