Well...Actually, that plant was in a pot at our former house, which kept it much smaller (it exploded once it got in the ground here). And, in a pot, you could haul it inside for the winter ;)
I love plants with this kind of explosion of color at the tips. You might look into Pieris japonica 'Red Mill' for a semii-shade area for a similar effect.

Those are very similar to the watery effect on glass and the colors are so pretty. Beautiful plant effects.
