Wednesday Vignette: Pools of Light

I've had computer problems and wasn't sure I'd get a Wednesday Vignette up this week but, when I saw Anna's post at Flutter & Hum, I thought of a photo I took last week.  Our marine layer often hides the rays of the sun as it rises, starting the day off on a somber note.  However, on some occasions, sunlight breaks through the clouds scattering pools of silvery light over the Los Angeles harbor, providing a reminder that the day holds promise.

Visit Anna at Flutter & Hum to find more Wednesday Vignettes.

  1. Thank you so much for this, Kris! It is beautiful, and totally hit the spot. I shared an idea with a friend today. I have tried for a year to get others interested in this idea, to very little avail. Anyway, among venting my other, more recent frustrations to her, this came up and I learned that SHE of all people, might be interested! And here I had thought that she was far too busy to even ask... It just goes to show that one should never assume anything about the life of others. When I saw her enthusiasm - that's when I started to find the silver lining in this debacle and you illustrated it beautifully! It dawned on me, that all this time, I might just have been asking the wrong people!

    1. I'm glad that the day brought you just the person you needed to talk to, Anna. I hope the current difficulties shake out new opportunities.

    1. Sometimes, when atmospheric conditions are just right, you can also see the streams of light coming through the clouds to pool in the water below. It is lovely.

    1. The visual clutter of the harbor can be distracting but those pools of light grab my attention whenever they appear.
