I was out and about early yesterday morning as I had a dentist appointment and wanted to take care of a few things in the garden before I made my 50-minute schlep to the dentist's office. (I love my dentist but I need one with a closer office.) I caught the sun as it was coming up over the Los Angeles Harbor.

The view from your garden is always beautiful but particularly breathtaking in these sunrise pictures.
ReplyDeleteIt's a nice view. We were lucky to get the house!
DeleteSo beautiful! Your view with its shifting skies always calm my soul. As always beautifully captured, Kris!
ReplyDeleteThanks Anna! It's a good think I don't show the view when it's utterly obscured by smog ;)
DeleteRight now sunrise is taking place just as I drive Nigel to the train station, but I haven't seen any as pretty as your pictures.
ReplyDeleteThe clouds don't always light up like that. Another fire had erupted to the east (at Mt. Wilson, near Pasadena) overnight and I wondered if smoke in the air contributed to the particularly vivid sunrise.
DeleteI can't imagine that sunrise, that view, beyond my garden. I might actually become a morning person!
ReplyDeleteI used to be a morning person but I can't claim that anymore. My dental appointment required that I get moving early.
DeleteBesides flowers, it there anything more beautiful than the sun rising over a body of water? Breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteIf only I could air-brush out those shipping cranes, Sally!
DeleteBeautiful way to start a day Kris. Lovely.
ReplyDeleteWhen I was an undergrad, I used to get up early to watch the sunrise over the ocean most mornings but I miss far more than I see these days. My husband is the early bird in our house now.
DeleteA glorious sight!
ReplyDeleteIt was, MDN!
DeleteI envy you this beautiful view. I'm sure you never get tired of it. Such a nice way to start the day.
ReplyDeleteWell, I sometimes wish we were on the other side of the peninsula with a view of the open ocean rather than the more industrial view of the harbor, but we are pointed in the right direction to enjoy the sunrise in the east, Grace.
DeleteYou get amazing skies, I've admired them before. I have to admit I rarely get to see the sunrise but I did get to see a spooky, misty amber sunrise last week full of dust brought over from the Sahara by the tail end of Ophelia.
ReplyDeleteI remember another US blogger commenting that smog and dust in the air intensifies sunsets and I expect the same must be true of sunrises. The County of Los Angeles has no shortage of smog!
DeleteWorth getting up early for; I hope the dentist visit was painless (in all senses).
ReplyDeleteThe dentist visit was fine. The drive to get there took longer than my appointment.
