The wildfires we're already experiencing are virtually unheard of this early in the year. Combined with the extended winter conditions areas like yours received, Mother Nature is getting downright scary.Kris Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07097260283693156795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574540292918761182.post-90523450978204566732013-05-05T18:45:27.301-07:002013-05-05T18:45:27.301-07:00It's too bad tears don't work as effective...It's too bad tears don't work as effective irrigation, isn't it?Kris Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07097260283693156795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574540292918761182.post-25660755841678556472013-05-05T18:43:51.760-07:002013-05-05T18:43:51.760-07:00Thank you for your good wishes, Barbara. I'm sorry to hear of your brother-in-law's condition but I'm sure he and your sister appreciate and support you and his family are providing. I offer my own best wishes at this difficult time.Kris Petersonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07097260283693156795noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574540292918761182.post-60693761421967014112013-05-04T20:39:31.936-07:002013-05-04T20:39:31.936-07:00Your garden is really lovely and yes it has that f...Your garden is really lovely and yes it has that feel that draws you into it. I think the definition of a gardener is someone who can be found in this natural setting on the best of days and yes on the worst of days. It gives you that feeling that a hug does. Your garden is wonderful, your photos are amazing.Charlie@Seattle Trekkerhttp://www.seattletrekker.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574540292918761182.post-77917471952509629202013-05-04T18:22:39.114-07:002013-05-04T18:22:39.114-07:00Yes, the garden is most definitely a refuge. Even non gardeners seem to relax when they sit on my patio in the height of summer.

For hot and dry, you've managed to coax alot of color out of that landscape. We're in a drought situation here which is extremely unusual for this time of year. I don't have any sort of irrigation here and have been spending way more time than I'd like hand watering new plantings and transplants. Tomorrow I may break out the sprinklers. Mother Nature, it seems can toss some mean curve balls.Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13911109672807196057noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574540292918761182.post-56981142310247103502013-05-04T15:23:07.311-07:002013-05-04T15:23:07.311-07:00I take refuge in my garden, too. Harsh conditions to have to work with, and (for me at least) hand watering is never as effective as it seems.HolleyGardenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14892421871044249940noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8574540292918761182.post-5182108183518836892013-05-04T11:29:59.755-07:002013-05-04T11:29:59.755-07:00Thank you for this post. His large family has been visiting, which is a good thing. I was able to weed my sister's long strawberry patch yesterday before the rain came. It's so helpful to connect with all that earth energy. Your garden is so beautiful. I will be picking up some ideas from you, I can tell. Best wishes and prayers to you and your loved one.
Barbara H.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
